Sábado de trabalho duro... Saturday hard work...

Isto de restaurar móveis não é tarefa fácil, especialmente para quem pouco sabe acerca disso como eu.

Temos andado a restaurar tudo o que temos de antigo na nossa casa da Abrançalha, porque vamos ter uma mudança, ainda não sei quando, tem sido um processo muito difícil que já dura há 4 anos... a burocracia neste país é de fugir...

As coisas vão estando encaminhadas finalmente, e há que restaurar tudo para se comprar o mínimo, para além de serem móveis de família que estimamos . Um dia quando toda esta engrenagem estiver concluída vou aqui contar a história da nossa casa da Abrançalha, que de alegre não tem nada, mas enfim, há que seguir em frente e é isto que estamos a fazer.

Mas voltando aos móveis. Já foi lixado o louceiro e passado a palha de aço fina, para ficar com um acabamento na madeira bastante suave .

Vai ser um desafio para mim, pintar este louceiro...

Ontem foi a vez de uma arca que se destina à casa do meu filho, a minha nora  queria-a  muito e eu ontem estive a tratar dela, para a trazer depois para cá, já com o primário aplicado. Porque esta história das lixagens faz uma porcaria de pó sem fim, feita aqui em apartamentos fica tudo sujo , assim já vem tratada e ela depois é só pintá-la.

Mas a arca deu muita luta, porque em tempos o meu sogro pintou-a com tinta de óleo antiga e para a tirar foi obra, mas agora já está. No próximo fim de semana já leva o primário.

Isto foi o ínicio do trabalho...

Restoring old furniture is not an easy thing to do, specially for people who don't know a lot about it, like me.

We've been renewing everything that we have in our Abrançalha's old house, cause we are going to move, I don't know when yet cause it has been a really difficult process, it has been four years actually... burocracy in this country is complicaded.

But finally the things are going well, and we are trying to recover everything , to buy the minimum possible, and above that, this are family's furtiture that we estimate.

One day when all of this is solved, I'll tell you the whole story about our Abrançalha's house, it's not a happy one though, but we need to move on and that's what we are doing.

But coming back to the furniture, this piece that you can see in the picture will be the best challenge for me, cause I'll paint it myself.

Yesterday, I started recovering this chest that will be to my son's house, my daughter in law  want it so much that yesterday I began the recovering of it, so when it's finnished we can bring it to their house.

But doing all this renewing work makes a huge mess, and it's impossible to do it here in our apartments.

The chest was really difficult to work on, cause it was painted by my father in law years ago with old paint, and it was really hard to remove it from the piece. But now it's done, and the next weekend I'll apply the primer so I can paint it.

This was the beginning of the work.
